It was self-explanatory at first when determining what was needed, but initially I had issues in finding the articles due to the limited nature of the topic. What were more available were books, and with I looked at the author’s background and what validity they posed to the research being conducted. One of the biggest things I was looking for, was relevancy. It had to be relevant and fit my criteria in terms of what I needed for my research. What seemed to be the easiest part was the outline to help my assignment.
I referred to unit 7’s discussion post where you outlined your essay. So far your research has proven to make for an interesting essay. I’m sorry I did not find a persuasive thesis statement in Unit 8 though, meaning I’m not convinced that there should be a policy change. I know you stated this is a working thesis statement which was not included in unit 8’s post. If you don’t mind, I would like to give some guidance.

In writing my essay I would usually start by telling the main idea about my story which would be my thesis statement. Starting an essay out like that will give the reader something to look forward to reading and make reading the story seem more interesting to read. The beginning of an essay or story should have more get up and go about it and it should grab you attention within the first few sentences. They reason why the revising editing phrase is the last step because it is very important for you to proofread any type of writing that you are doing to make sure that it is error free before you submit it or before you put it on the market for it to be sold. This step is very important to all writers and publishers because no one wants to purchase
Goodmorning Ms. Scoggins, Hopefully you are having a great weekend in this lovely morning. The reason that I am reach out to you is that I have some concern about the course, and how it will impact my life once I leave Collins. Since I was a little girl, I really have never been a fanatic of english the reason for this I struggle to talk write and read the language. Now I have improve on talking and reading, but as much as I have improve in those area I am still lacking on my writing. I am having problems with my grammar and my thesis statement; I am able to understand the topic and write a lot more than what is required from me.
1. What is your approach to writing papers in general and science papers specifically? My approach to writing a general paper is to make sure my thesis statement is specific and addresses a question/problem in the field I am writing about. I also make sure that it is clearly stated in the abstract, introduction, and conclusion for readers to make connections while reading the entire paper.
Many times researchers doing reviews end up with a chronological catalog of all of the relevant sources reviewed instead of an evaluation that integrates previous research together explaining how it integrates into the proposed research program (Wang et al., 2015). Poor literature review fails to capture all sides of an argument and tends to be bias, avoiding to critically mention areas of agreement and disagreement (Shipman, 2014). Such a review is merely a collection of quotes and paraphrasing from other sources (Willig, 2013). Sadly enough most researchers undertaking psychological research are not skilled in doing a quality
I have never particularly enjoyed personal philosophy papers as I feel my philosophy is always changing based on what I have learned and new things that I experience. To begin this paper writing process I made an outline with bullet point of things I believed in when it came to education. I gather all my thoughts and gathers scholarly articles prior to beginning as well as throughout my writing process. After review my thoughts and my research I began putting together my educational philosophy and comparing it to other theories and philosophies that we learned about throughout this course. As I wrote my paper it became easier to put my thoughts onto the page.
In chapter seven, I learned the importance of drafting a thesis statement for a descriptive essay. A thesis statement will aid the writer in only adding information that supports the statement. This step prevents writers from including random pieces of extra information that may take the focus away from the main idea. However, if there are details that are irrelevant to the paper but important to the writer the writer must make some adjustments to the thesis statement so that the detail can continue to be relevant to the thesis. Learning about drafting a thesis statement in a descriptive essay will impact me in a way where I can avoid adding too much unnecessary information.
I have completed my Introduction with trying to put a hook, background information, important material, and thesis statement. I have found sources for information to add. Work I Have Yet To Complete
While progressing through the course, I found the outline to be particularly beneficial. Having to put an outline together helped me focus on my thesis statement and it also helped me ensure I had strong enough point of view when having to break down the three main pieces of my argument. In fact, as I was working through the outline, it helped me to ask additional questions that pointed me to look for other sources. To be honest, I am not a fan of writing and I am normally someone who waits until the last minute to get most of my research papers done (I know it’s shameful…but I am being honest). Taking this course has shown me how to tackle research papers in a progressive and systematic manner that will actually help alleviate the stress
