In the movie, The Dark Knight, directed by Christopher Nolan, film techniques are creatively used to portray Batman, the protagonist, as a superhero with good character and judgement. Throughout the film, Nolan has ensured that Batman is mostly shot from low angles. The purpose of these low angles is to portray Batman as much more superior than any other mortal being. These angles can also be seen as a reflection of Batman’s altruistic nature, because he is willing to do whatever it takes to fight evil, even if it means endangering his own life. However the low angles do not only portray him as superior, they also make the viewer aware of his vulnerability.

Batman and Superman are a couple of superheroes from a wide variety of superhero comics. Both of them try to protect mankind from any hurt, harm, or danger that may come. A similarity between both of these superheroes is that they want justice in the world. With so much crime and torture going on in the world, mankind looks for a higher power to help stop it.

The main characters in ‘The Dark Knight’ are Batman/ Bruce Wayne (Christen Bale), Harvey Dent/ Two-face (Aaron Eckhart), Joker (Heath Ledger), Rachel Dawes (Maggie Gyllenhaal) and Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman). The scenes which will be investigated are Wayne’s party, the SWAT car chase and Jokers interrogation.
