The evidence for this can be found on page 122 in chapter 12, and it says “Suddenly she smiled. ‘How’d you and Mister Jem like to come to church with me tomorrow?”. Scout possesses and shows intellectual courage by standing against her teacher, Miss Caroline Fisher, on an intellectual level. Evidence for this can be found on page 16 in chapter 2, and it says “she discovered that I was literate and looked at me with more than faint distaste.
