The transformational change project (TCP) for this project will be the implementation of project-based learning in an alternative education site, which is part of Riverside County Office of Education. The purpose of this academic paper is to gather various sources of information for the creation and implementation of project-based learning for the 2017-2017 academic year.
A TCP a leadership team was created to guide this process. The TCP leadership team analyzed and prioritized key issues for project implementation and designing an implementations plan. This was achieved by conducting an external and internal assessment of the organization( ), to bring to light the organizations strengths, weaknesses, road blocks and obstacles. This analyses provided TCLT members with key understanding of what project –based learning consists off and the challenges the implementation can face.

This is difficult for a teacher to plan three to four lesson plans that meet grade level standards, differentiation for all students, meet special education needs, address students gaps in knowledge and skills. Leadership team discussed creating lessons and units of study that will address all grade level standards so teachers can focus on creating in depth activities to make a curriculum relevant and interesting to the students.
• Team discussed the issue that students assessments are not relevant or don’t assess students’ growth. Leadership team felt that, with new curriculum a new curriculum based assessments needs to be implemented. Assessments need to measure student academic growth and content standard mastery, and to demonstrate if project-base learning is an appropriate educational tool for alternative education students. Students should be assessed on the lessons taught not questions picked from a
