The Waynesboro Middle School’s vision is moving the accountability result from a “D’ to a “C”. The data are collected from the 2013-2014 Mississippi Department of Education Accountability results. The action is put in place based on the student data. The action plan is a four step process that includes: hiring quality teachers, improving retention rate, professional development, and providing resources. Developing a teachers’ abilities to educate students is at the core of successful professional development. The engagement of teachers using data to examine the needs of diverse learners and struggling students, will help determine the structure and content of professional development. The teacher was unsure of how the information was considered in the budgeting process. In previous years, the school central office focused on improving the way science skills were taught by purchasing hands on materials for the science classroom to further enhance classroom attainment of a specific science skill. According to the principal, Waynesboro Middle School does not have a budget. No money, built in from the school district, is issued any school. Every school within the district is self-efficient. Every school in Mississippi have to write a budget for Title 1 funds. The needs of the school is the first is the first step in identifying the budget needs. A needs assessment survey is done within the school. The Leadership team uses data to make decisions within the school. Mouse and calculators were purchased for state testing, based on the needs of the school. The mouse and calculators were purchased from the general fund of the school. School planning is based on the needs of the school. Chromebooks, smart-boards, and projectors are purchased through the Title 1 budget. Chromebooks were purchased for students can be tested appropriately. Title 1 funds has limitations for what funds can be spent on. Title 1 funds on are spent on two categories, instructional and
