The Trojan War was one of, if not, the most significant battle in Greek history. The war was a large in greek history, that is remembered by many, even today. The story of the Trojan war contains love, morale, and the abuse of power by gods, making it great for any heart or mind.
The Start of the Trojan war was incredibly hidden, when we think of the Trojan warm the first thing to mind is usually the Trojan Horse. But the start of it wasn’t even caused by Paris, but a god named Eris. According to Schomp, Eris was the god of Strife, being causing mishappenings and such. Long story already told, but short, is Paris stole Helen. Some blamed Helen, and some did not, but either way, a war was caused. Helen, now known as Helen of Troy. Was married to Paris, or in love. This caused Agamemnon to raid Troy. This was the beginning of one of the biggest battles in Greek history. The battles were immense, with both sides attacking each other at a rapid pace. The people of Troy stayed inside their walls, whilst the enemies relentlessly attacked. But then came the plan, in vengeance of not being chosen as the ‘fairest’ of the three gods, Athena sided with the Mycenae, and helped them. The Mycenae then created the horse in honor of the goddess, some of them left the battle, for some to stay, the ones who did, hid inside the trojan horse. (Schomp 80) One man was ‘left behind’ and was ordered to explain the horse was for athena, and would not fit through the gates of troy. Being less scared, and through meeting through the town they brought the statue in, and through the night, the man left behind lit a torch for those who left for another island, and knocked in the gate of the Trojan horse, signalling the start of the ambush.
