What about Me? Through the Project 2 self-assessments available in Connect (2017), I was able to complete 45 assessments to gain valuable information including big five personality, self-esteem levels, proactivity, listening skills, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and strategic planning skills. These assessment results all correlated with my Jung Typology test classification as ENTJ (Humanmetrics, 2017). Personality Insights.
Overview I took the Myers-Briggs Personality test and tested as an ENTJ. I felt that the this gave me an accurate rating and felt that the description it gave was accurate. I went and read the descriptions for all the other personality types to see if any of them were a better match.
Personality Assessment and Analysis The following is the test results
My personality type is an ENFJ, this surprisingly is a precise fit. I have always felt like I knew who I was but taking these tests gives me insight into who I am and what type of jobs are a good fit for my personality type. One of the items that I had never considered about myself is that I am expressive and logical. I don’t necessarily agree with the logical aspect, as I feel I am more of a spontaneous person. I also really enjoyed finding out about my personality twins.
I have replied to two other types of personality other that mine, so I have decided to reply to one that is similar to mine. Based on the results of the INTJ personality type, I found it to be right on point as my behavior, career choices, etc. The few things I found that were a tad bit unlike me was the part on relationships and not being capable of readily grasping social rituals, by having little patience and limited understanding of small talk and flirtation.1 I can’t speak for other INTJs, but I have a great understanding all such . . . It’s just that I don’t care much for it. In addition, the findings found that our type is capable of disregarding authority.
Through the Myer-Briggs Type Indicator assessment I learned the four main personalities that I possess are: Extraversion, which allows me to get my energy from being around people, Intuition, keeps me focused on the future and the big possibilities it has for me, Feeling which helps me to connect with others and my morals/values I have, and Perceiving, this allows me to keep my views open about anything and keeping a flexible schedule for new approaches in life. After taking this assessment I learned more about how I may respond in different types of situations whether stressful or fun. Another assessment that helped me understand more about my perception of how I react to my surroundings was through Gallup’s, “Top Five Strengths Insight Report?.
I am a sociable person. I like to get to know different people and also experience different vibes with others. I believe as a school psychologists, they examine all the problems with different individuals to determine what will be best for the students and staff, or the school system as well. I agree with my test results because I actually took my time to take the test and answered them very honestly. I find that both of the tests had their different ways of finding the perfect career for
Having done prior assessments and analyzed only strengthens the argument that I possess the attributes of the Enterprising, Conventional, and Social themes based on the skills and values defining them. Last semester I was able to complete the Myer Briggs Assessment to find that I am an ENTJ personality type. The assessment indicated I possess the personality type described as “Extraverted Thinking with Introverted Intuition” similar to the SII Assessment. Life experience I’ve had that included the skills detailed in Enterprising, Conventional, and Social themes provided information allowing me to concur with the findings of this assessment. The occupation themes and interest do not surprise me because I have researched or worked in similar positions or concentrations.
In general, I would say that the results of the quiz are reasonably accurate. Throughout most of my life I would say that I have been a staunch skeptic. I tend to analyze claims with great rigor, and in a broad sense, I do not accept claims until they have met their burden-of-proof. These are all traits that seem to coincide with the True Colors definition of a personality type that is dominantly green, and only scarcely blue. One very notable example of how my personality type clashes with my culture is through the prevalence of supernatural beliefs in our society.
Once completing multiple personality tests; thus I was finally able to confirm ESTJ as my personality type. Since I was getting unsuited suggestions of career choices, I retook the test until ESTJ was able to fit more of my interests and viewpoints. The 16 Personalities Test results gave me a more detailed description of who I am and insight on my personality traits. It has helped me figure out aspects that can help me get a better understanding of myself.
Psychologists endeavor to find a basis for determining personality traits through surveys conducted on individuals. There are numerous versions of surveys in existence, each with their own categories and understandings of answers given. Most surveys however, use correlated personality traits to group them into larger categories. This allows a broader understanding of an individual, though sometimes the results can stray or vary between tests. In this attempt at understanding myself, I will be analyzing the results of three specific tests.
Positive self esteem is attitudinal, perceived self control is behavioral, extraversion is perceptual, and positive self esteem is attitudinal as well. When averaging domain statistics, positive self esteem has a significant set of data. For this domain, the average of all participants shows a “neutral” attitude. Most people in this domain do not have very high self esteem, or very low self esteem, the average is almost right in the middle. Some participants have a high self esteem, while others have low, but taking the average it is almost neutral overall.
• I am well groomed, healthy and full of confidence. My outer well being is matched by my inner well being. • Self confidence is what I thrive on. Nothing is impossible and life is great. • I always see only the good in others.
There are people struggle to maintain positive self-evaluation yet, the individuals might employ self-handicapping strategy to secure the positive self-evaluation while facing the occurrence with little chance to succeed (Cheng & Law, 2015). A statement came from Wusik and Axsom (2016) states that self-handicapping are conceptually different in excuse-making; it is also different than intentional failure. When future success is uncertain, self-handicapping can be used as a strategic measure taken to protect an individual 's insecure positive reputation.
