When they found out that he was hung many Southerners cheered and rejoiced that a tyrant was taken down. The Southerners viewed him as a terrorist to the South and ruined everything that they worked for with this simple

Sectionalism came over and brought problems to the country. Sectionalism is the separation and differentiation between people and regions. It was obvious that the country was divided, and the two big sections were the North and South regions. Sectionalism is the sense of belief of feeling divided like on a subject or into factions. In document 5 it states “would have produced a new union of thirteen or fourteen states, unpolluted with slavery”. This is an example of nationalism because the author, John Quincy Adams, was against the topic of slavery. He was not thinking for his country. He was thinking about how this would have affected him.
The story that started the Civil War Uncle Tom’s Cabin is a well known book and movie written by Harriet Beecher Stowe. It was created to show the Northerners what was really happening in the South. It made many people from the North turn against slavery and join the abolitionist movement. This created a huge controversy between the North and South.
Sectionalism is the belief that some groups of people, who share certain cultural, economic, and geographic realities, form distinct sections and allegiances within a broader polity. It started way before the Civil War and persisted long after it ended. The Civil War began because of the North and South’s conflicts. It was the clearest illustration of sectionalism in the United States. The slavery issue in the South only had a relatively minor impact on the Southerners.

In reference to the novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, written by Harriet Beecher Stowe, the entire conversation that took place between both Mr and Mrs Bird revolves around the issue of humanity, in which, Mr Bird believes one shall be bound to follow the law of the state, regardless as to whether, it is evil or not, however Mrs Bird on the other hand, believes and argues, one shall not be bound by the law of the state, upon which, to add further, if it results in an inhuman act, since she is more fond to act in accordance to the guidance provided in the Bible. In regards to Thomas Aquinas theory on just and unjust laws, he believes that law is created for the purpose of common good and must have and end or goal. He stated further that the law has to be made by someone who cares for the community as a whole and has the power to influence others in order to obey and follow the law created. Such a law created should be acknowledged to the nation by way of promulgation. Thus, as a whole, he asserted that, those are the necessary conditions which are sufficient to be fulfilled, failure which, may result in an act of violence not as a law.
Who or what is a source of inspiration for you? Harriet Beecher Stowe changed a nation through her novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Knowing that one person created this change makes me realize that my actions in this world do matter and that inspires me. If you could live for a day as another person, past or present, who would it be?
To Kill a Mockingbird is a book with several themes, one of which is in the title itself. On page 93, Miss Maudie says, “[Mockingbirds] don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corncribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” She is saying that killing a mockingbird is a sin because mockingbirds don’t cause any harm to anyone. The same could be said about several characters in the book, such as Boo Radley, Tom Robinson, and Dolphus Raymond.
