Importance and benefits of managing this diversity There is prescription that a company could apply to be successful, therefore it depends on the capability of the leader to sort out what is best to the organisation based on the level of productivity of the workplace. Leaders and managers should know and recognise skills that are vital in creating a positive and effective diverse workforce. One day session of training and programs is inadequate to change a person’s behaviour and styles, therefore the company need continuous development, implementation and maintaining trainings and awareness foundation. The welfare of having a diverse workforce is that it brings a unique standpoint to the company.
Some strategies that can be used to enrich children’s understanding and respect for cultural identities within the services community may include: - • providing activities and opportunities that engage other cultures These activities could be a culture celebration for a day or week such as Chinese New Year, St Patrick’s Day, Christmas etc., where the children could come dressed up as something that represents that particular culture i.e. dragon, leppricon, Noah etc. and play games that originated from that culture, do drawings of things found in that culture or read books at story time that give information and embraces the culture. • engaging parents and families to discuss cultural practices.
To address this issue the owner hired a HR manager to create a diversity training program out of the blue. My issue with the news of the training would be, what is this training going to accomplish for me. I have no idea what the female employees feel and without being told there is an issue, the male employees have no chance to defend or change their actions. I also may be confused because there are no minorities working here currently, so what would be the point of the training.
