The first book that I read was “Understanding Sam and Asperger syndrome”, written by Clarabelle van Niekerk and Liesl Venter and was published in 2006 by Skeezel Press.
This book well written for children age five to seven. “Understanding Sam and Asperger syndrome” is a story about a child, name Sam, with autism. This boy loves to play cello, ride the Ferris wheels, and his favorite breakfast is pancakes, however, he doesn’t like loud sounds and he is sensitive to some materials. One night when he goes by himself to Ferris wheels. After that Sam’s parents decide to take Sam to the doctor. And it turns out that Sam has Asperger syndrome. Then Sam’s parents, sister and peers working together to understand Sam better.

“Autism and Me: Sibling Stories” is written by Ouisie Shapiro and published in 2009 by Albert Whitman & Company. This book is not just about children who have autism but it also about their siblings who describes their lives with their brothers and sisters. There are fourteen stories/essays in the book. Children are talking about ups and downs of their relationships with their siblings who has autism. Amber (in the book) said "Some people think kids like Ravi are stupid because they have trouble learning. That makes me mad.”, or Troy, who said [When Sam gave the announcement in school] "He talks in a high voice and people in my class were laughing at him...". Also, they share their joy and happiness in this book, like Deia who said “ I got my driver’s license, so I am so excited to spend time with her alone…”
The fourth book called “Brianna Breathes Easy: A story about Asthma” that’s written by Virginia Knoll and published in 2005 by Albert Whitman & Company. This book is for preschool age children and older. This book about a girl who was very exited about getting the lead in a Thanksgiving play. But the night before a performance she got an asthma attack and went emergency room. The doctor explained how to control her asthma. The book explains about common things like dust, smoke pets, and other stuff that might bother breathing tube, and how to avoid
