“The worst form of inequality is to try to make unequal things equal,” Aristotle once said. Throughout history, we have always dealt with inequality. Whether it was with racial segregation or treatment, women's rights, abilities between the healthy and poor, et cetera. For some time we defended these acts. The biggest issue wasn’t the problem itself, but the fact that we did defend it. For example, half of the nation worked and died to keep slavery running. This is an important form of giving. Some people need food and warmth, but there students in the school itself that need food and a blanket. Not all teachers would know which students are receiving these things, so the students that can’t give wouldn’t be allowed extra credit simply because they are not financially stable. It is not equal.
Certain clubs or seasons come with specific fundraisers. So, with each trimester one class may be able to receive extra credit for helping out with a fundraiser, while other trimesters do not have that opportunity. The person will want to be there doing a job rather than putting in minimum effort that allows him or her to receive extra credit. Granted, there will be some students who go and put in the effort worth the extra points, but not everyone is guaranteed to do so. The is not unfair to other students, but it is unfair to the community and the teachers. The students would be rewarded for doing that they should want to be doing anyways, and for an effort that may not be
