University Of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Essay: My Future

My Future Deciding what I want my future to look like can be hard. I am still discovering what I want to do and what I want my future to look like. I have some of it figured out, but not much. To start I will continue my education at Southern Miss, then I hope to find a job in the marketing field and maybe have a family sometime after. After I leave Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, I plan to attend the University of Southern Mississippi. The University of Southern Mississippi seems to be the most practical place to further my education. The reasoning behind this is I could still live with my grandma, and they offer both marketing and communication degrees. I want to double major and get my bachelor’s in marketing and communications. I am not sure exactly what job I would like to pursue. One job that interests me is a marketing specialist. A Marketing Specialist “designs and creates marketing campaigns that support the growth of a company’s products and services”(Fremont College). I would be responsible for researching marketing trends and finding out which products are in demand. I would also, “develop sales presentations and provide reports based on information collected such as marketing trends, competition, new products, and pricing”(Fremont College). A position that interests me more is a marketing manager. I would be responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans for the organization I work for. My everyday tasks would include,” managing and coordinating marketing staff, leading market research efforts to uncover the viability of current and existing products/services, and liaising with media organizations and advertising agencies”(Paladin).
