Victor In 7th Grade

Have you ever done something stupid to impress someone? Most of us have looked like idiots trying to impress someone. Just like Victor, the main character in the story "7th Grade". The main character, Victor tries to impress Teresa by saying he knows french in class. Victor makes a fool out of himself when the teacher asks Victor a question in French and Victor had no idea what the teacher said. Victor said random words in return because he doesn't know a single word in French. Acting like somebody your not does nothing but make the situation worse, so be yourself.This story takes place in school, on the first day of 7th grade. Determined to get Teresa to like him, Victor only ends up making a fool of himself. This year Victor takes French to be in the same class as Teresa. Victor acts as if he knows French to impress Teresa. When the teacher, Mr. Bueller asks if anybody knows french of course Victor raises his hand. Mr. Bueller asks Victor a question in French and "Great rosebushes of red bloomed on Victors cheeks." says the author. His face was filled with terror and embarrassment because Victor didn't know a single word in French. In fact, Victor does end up impressing Teresa because she doesn't know French her either and she thinks Victor does know French. Sadly, Victor also ends up making a fool out of himself in front of Mr. Bueller. An example of my thesis is when Teresa and Victor walk out of class.Teresa says hi to Victor and he just says, "ya that's me". Victor was upset because instead of saying something nice he said something stupid and rude. Victor was also very angry because he really likes Teresa. By saying something stupid and rude it could ruin his chances with the girl that Victor likes. Don't act like somebody your not or else people will look at you differently or else people may look at you differently. Most people who try to impress people and act like someone they're not end up coming off as an idiot.
