There are too many people in this world that believe that videogames are the leading source of violence in the world today however, that is as far from the truth as possible. Video games have always been a good thing in this world starting from Mario™ All the way to the Call Of Duty™ franchise. Video games have very little effects on people and their behavior. Video games have a rating for a reason and if you let your child play games that are above their age level then that is your fault and you have no one to blame but yourself (Moore, Timothy F).

Modern day video games are filled with murder, sex, and, drugs, which is unsuitable for the children we are raising. These children are the future of our world, do you really want them growing up off of video games like this? I would hope not. These video games have been proven to cause awful behavior in children, including violence and discrimination at a very young age. While I do think that violent video games are the problem (SoapBoxEDucation), I think that bad parenting could also play a part in this. What we hardly hear about is all of the time and research that has shown that violent crime in adolescence has gone down almost fifty-percent from 1995 to 2006. While this drop in violence has occurred, at the same time video game sales in 1995 went off the charts from about 15 million units, to a mind blowing 45 million units in 2005 (Ferguson 33). Many articles have been published trying to shed some light on not only more unbiased statistics about video game violence, but showing how past research on the topic has been funded by groups that are looking for specific results to favor their arguments against video game, and just media violence
