As a student of Walden University, I am expected and held accountable for the integrity of any work that I write and submit. Walden University’s code of conduct on academic integrity states, “A student who enrolls at the university thereby agrees to respect and acknowledge the research and ideas of others in his or her work and to abide by those regulations governing work stipulated by the academic unit or academic program, and, in turn, the instructor” (Walden University, 2014). The first violation of academic integrity is plagiarism. According to Walden University (2014), “plagiarism is defined as use of intellectual material produced by another person without acknowledging its source.” Walden’s writing center offers great resources such as modules to educate students on the different forms of plagiarism and how to avoid them. Turnitin is also a tool for students to check assignments for plagiarism and correct them prior to submission.

Although I received a score of 0 for this assignment, I sort of had a hard time paraphrasing the script. It takes a bit of effort to dig into your own intellect and be creative when putting someone else words into your own. I am not the best writer so when someone else words something so perfectly I want my own words to sound the same but that’s not what paraphrasing is. Your own words are your own no matter how they sound. I realize I could benefit from Walden’s grammar tools such as the grammar modules and Grammarly to help. I didn’t have the best of luck with Grammarly as I did with Turnitin but my grammar is a work in
