“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” This is a quote that Walt Disney said and proved these words through his many achievements. Walt endured challenge after challenge on his road to success. Walt started living paycheck to paycheck and came out with the most popular and well known ideas and business even today. The way he persevered through the challenges and touches each of our hearts really shows us that, if we can dream it, we can do it. Walt Elias Disney was born on December 5 1901 in Chicago, Illinois beginning a long amazing lifetime. Walt and his four other brothers and sisters were raised in a Christian home. He was very fond of the friends and good time he created there (Bob 28). In Missouri, Walt attended McKinley high school and he took photography and drawing, there he started to become interested in animation and those types of things. He also was the cartoonist for his school for a year until he dropped out to join the army. He was declined due to his age though, and he then joined the red cross in France and live there for a year. When Walt came back, he started his animation career and a family.
Walt had always been in the spotlight, however, he was a family man and did not want that for his family. He never his family life become public. If he was traveling too much for work he would take time off and be with his family. He made it a point that work was separated from the family (Green 2). Walt Disney once said “The most important thing is family” (3). This really shows people what a family man Walt was, he realized that when things go wrong, he would still always have his family to fall back on no matter what. Walt said it back with some of these quotes, “If you can dream it you can do it” and, “It's kind of fun to do the impossible.” (Green 64) This just goes to show the type of person Walt was and the types of things he believed in, he believed in dreams coming true and he wanted that for the people who look up to him. On a tangible sense Walt made so many advancements in special effects and movies most people do not think we would be where we are today without him. He caused for major tourism business from all over the world to come see these amazing magical wonder filled parks!
