Augustus was a respected, successful, and considerate leader who did his best to impress the citizens of Rome. Although some viewed him as greedy and controlling, most critics say that he was generally a kind and respectful leader. Augustus accomplished many things that made him respected throughout Rome. He conquered Egypt which was what made him popular and celebrated amongst the citizens of Rome. Coins were made with Augustus’ face on them. Besides his successfulness in conquering new lands, Augustus also proved to be a selfless and considerate ruler outside of the battlefield. He refused the title of dictator and other “royal” names.
