The evidence from the readings proves that Julius Caesar was a tyrant. The people of Rome said that they never wanted a dictator. In other words, they didn’t want to be ruled by someone else. Julius Caesar was a threat to the democracy of Rome. He wanted to be dictator for life, and wouldn’t let anyone else rule Rome. Although, he couldn’t rule Rome without the loyalty of his powerful army. The more land he conquered the more rich and powerful he became. Even though he successfully led an army for 9 years, he broke the law and returned with his army when he wasn’t supposed to. At the end of the day, he didn’t want to step down from being so powerful over Rome. The senators decided to finally stop him before he took over the entire government.
