People may commonly think of Amelia Earhart as just a well known woman aviator, but her multiple accomplishments also helped pave the way for more rights and recognition for women. She helped to improve what people thought about women. “Amelia wrote ‘more than ever did I then realize how essentially this was a feminine expedition, originated and financed by a women, whose wish was to emphasize what her sex stood ready to do’” (Stone 73).
