What Are Lewis And Clark Achievements

Lewis and Clark were to first ones to find the Pacific Ocean on their long expedition. Lewis and Clark made an journey from St. Louis, Missouri, to the Rocky mountains ending at the Pacific Ocean. This expedition was on May 14, 1804- September 23, 1806. There was 59 people and 1 dog on the journey. Lewis and Clark we able to discover new things during the discovery. The first accomplishment was that Lewis and Clark found new plant and animal species. They observed new plants, birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, and fish. Lewis and Clark discovered 178 new plants species and 122 new animal species. Some examples of plants they discovered were golden currents, bitterroot, wild onion, and cottonwood.
