He kept on calling Juliet really mean names. “Hang thee, young baggage! disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday,”(III.V.161). This quote shows Capulet does not really care of his daughter Juliet with this quote from the play.
Juliet had just been yelled at by her father about marrying Paris or being kicked out and she begs her mother to delay the marriage or else she will kill herself. “Talk not to me, for I’ll not speak a word./Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee”(Shakespeare 771 3.5.199-203). Lady Capulet just disowned her daughter for the most part. Lady Capulet says that she is done worrying about juliet and she will not say another word to her so she can do whatever she want, she does not care about her daughter because Juliet will not marry Paris. Juliet and her mother start to have a conversation before the party.
As lord capulet does not know trying to make his loved one happy cause her death. Lord capulet is most to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William shakespeare Lord capulet forces juliet to marry paris and causes the tragedy. Due to lord capulet being uniformed he forces juliet into a arranged marriage with Paris.
She then tells him that she doesn’t want to marry Paris. His response to that was calling her names by saying “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch!”. After Lord Capulet said that Juliet she didn’t have a choice but to go to Friar Lawrence because he was the only one besides the nurse that knew about Romeo. So that’s when Friar Lawrence came up with a plan for Juliet to fake her death, if Lord Capulet didn’t force Juliet to marry Paris then she wouldn’t have never had to go to Friar
Lord Capulet was one of the individuals that contributed to the termination of Romeo and Juliet’s lives. Being irate, Lord Capulet forces Juliet into a dilemma by saying, “But fettle [her] fine joints ‘gainst Thursday next/ to go with Paris to Saint Peter’s Church, or [he] will drag thee on a hurdle thither.” (III.v.154-156). Juliet characterizes as a loyal and obedient daughter, she always wants to please her parents whenever she can. This puts tons of pressure on Juliet’s decision.
V. 180-183). He was also too over protective of her and didn't ask what she wanted for anything, because in those times that was the custom. If Capulet did not try and force the marriage, then Juliet would not of taken the potion and that means Romeo would not of died. And if Romeo didn't die neither would Juliet.
V. 116-123). This evidence reveals that the Capulets were going to force Juliet into marriage with Paris so that she could carry on the bloodline. In actuality, If the parents hadn’t kept them for seeing each other in front of the families, the families would have killed each other knowing the teenager’s relationship, the feud would have been over, and the two teens would’ve lived so the parents and the feud were not to blame for the death of Romeo and
All of the tragedy in this story is caused by the capulets. The first reason why the Capulets are to blame is that Lord Capulet was forcing Juliet to marry Paris even though she didn't want to. I think this because in the text is says,” Or I will drag thee on a hurdle thinder.” (3.5.174) This is telling me that he is threatening her, this causes tragedy by having Juliet fake her death and that causes Romeo to kill himself and for Paris to get killed by Romeo at Juliet's tomb.
Lord Capulet plays a big role in the death of these two. Lord Capulet is the father of Juliet, and the head of the Capulet family. He also has an ongoing feud with the Montague family, which Romeo is a part of. Capulet goes on to arrange a marriage between Juliet and Paris, which she wants nothing to do with. In Act 3 Scene 5, Lord Capulet states, “hang, beg, starve, die in the streets, for, by my soul, I’ll ne’er acknowledge thee”.
However, the marriage would have made her unhappy, and she knew this. Instead of consoling his daughter, Lord and Lady Capulet yell at Juliet and threaten to disown her if she doesn't obey. (Quote here). Similar to this instance, when Lady Capulet first tells Juliet she is to marry Paris, Juliet doesn’t feel comfortable with that idea. Lady Capulet tells Juliet she will marry Paris at the capulet party and tries to get the nurse to convince her to agree (Quote).
1) In the meritorious novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn written by Mark Twain, there was a character by the name of Pap, his name was never mentioned in the actual book but he was a major influence on the events that would take place in Huck’s life, such as the reason he would able to have his adventure in the first place and was a key figure in what was what not to be when someone were to be a father or mother. 2) Huck’s father, Pap, was extremely jealous of those who were supposedly greater than him when it came to social and economic power, and he was the kind of man who did not want others to surpass him, for example, when Pap began ridiculing Huck for getting an education, Pap was the kind of person, who, under extreme situations where he wants to feel superior to others he would
Capulet also tells Juliet if she does not marry Paris to never look him in the face again and that she will be disowned. This might have made Juliet very pressured and sad, her own father telling her that she will be disowned from the family made her feel like she had to marry Paris but the love she had for Romeo would not let her. Overall Capulet was a big part in what happened because he forced Juliet to commit to something she did not want to commit
The Capulets are deceitful, harsh, and inconsiderate for Juliet's feelings. They wanted to disown her when she told them that she didn't wanted to marry Paris. For example, from act 3 scene 2 when Lady Capulet says, "Talk not to me, for I'll shall not speak a word. " If Lady Capulet would have listened to her, then maybe Juliet wouldn't have to try to plot to get out of the wedding. It was because of
That makes Juliet concerned because she likes Romeo. First, he tells Juliet to marry Paris which she doesn’t want to happen. This is found in Act 3 scene 5. Second, Lord Capulet rages at Juliet when he notices that she doesn’t want to marry Paris. He then tells Juliet that he will never see her again.
In act 3 scene 5 Lord Capulet tells Juliet that she has to marry Paris or else she will be disowned and he is not very nice about it either; while he is telling Juliet what will happen if she doesn’t Marry Paris he says, “hang, beg, starve, die in the streets, For, by my soul, I'll ne'er acknowledge thee”. This hurts Juliet very much. Lord Capulet was forcing Juliet to marry Paris so soon she didn’t even have time to think of anything else she could do. This is putting Juliet in a stressful situation because she is already married to Romeo, but now her father will disown her if she doesn't marry Paris.
