Ethical issues are typically based on values, promises and commitments, whereas legal issues are based on matters concerning laws. An organization can create policies based on ethical behavior, such as every employee having an expectation to be treated fairly. Our government passes laws that give every employee the right to work in a non-hostile environment. In most cases, ethical behavior or lack of can result in a loss of position, pay or employment. Unlawful behavior can result in penalties, termination (if job related) and even imprisonment.

TechFite may have made commitments to sponsor community events and support local leadership development programs but if the company’s business goals are not met, it may have to scale back some of the commitments it originally promised. This is one of the main reasons they choose to be employed. Socially, employees will be satisfied and happy to be working at TechFite. Environmentally people may see TechFite as a very upright company to work for. TechFite’s promise of funding community programs will ethically show they are more than just a for profit company. These social aspects will promote the company with a moral marketing campaign. The programs sponsored could help develop the community environmentally. Investing in the city’s infrastructure may be one of the most difficult commitments TechFite can fulfill, but it made this commitment to the city and the people of Dellberg.
