Feminists just want to prove that there is more a woman can do than taking care of a house or children. These women would like to expand their limitations that society keeps them in, “These limitations of Feminism bemoans and urges women to break through. It laments that a woman, by looking forward matrimony, should diminish her interest in her factory work. It would reverse condition: make wage earning permanent and marriage transient, salary the major and children the minor interest (Martin 42).” Feminism by engaging the mother in daily occupation for wages outside the home, would make comprehensive that separation between mother and child which, unhappily, is common among the frivolous rich (Martin 197).”
A famous saying is “a closed mouth doesn’t get fed” that represents how if a person does not put words onto their thoughts then they will never be heard. Diane Ackerman writes, “ ...although it is possible to have a thought without words, it’s rarely possible to know what one thinks without bronzing it with words.” Ackerman’s claims are valid, words need to be used in order to hear a person’s thoughts. Feminism is a political and social movement that is geared towards creating equality between males and females in various aspects of life (e.g work, education etc). Feminists throughout the world have different views on what they consider feminist goals based on the societies and cultures they live in.
Feminists say that there should be equal rights for men and women because everything a man can do, can also be done by a woman. Before, the women were more of a houseperson but now, we can see that a lot of women became anything a man can be. There are many women who work on a job that was just for men before. Soon enough, there will be a war on feminists and
Feminist wanted special advantages they felt they deserved. Everyone wants to have advantages in life, but finding that privilege is not the same for everyone is a disappointment for some. For example, a young man might be considered “privileged” if they get an extra bonus at work. That same man does not feel privileged because the only reason they got an extra bonus was to pay for their sick wife’s medicine. It is all about perspective.
Feminists want to end the stereotypes that humanity has created for the roles of men and women in
Feminism: Viewing feminism from all aspects From the following classic definition of a “feminist” by believing the idea of equality, there is an added responsibility of delivering the idea, convincing people, and helping people realize the occurrence of feminism. Being a feminist by any means is not an easy task. As the idea of feminism is rapidly developing across the globe, it refers to various questions, misconceptions, and sometimes extreme detestation directed towards the feminists. Society still doesn’t understand the essence of feminism, and the true meaning of it. Some believe that a feminist fight for women's equality, while others believe that women should be able to fulfill their highest potential.
The objective for the feminist movement is to find equality between the sexes. Since the start of this movement, women have acquired the right to vote and have become big competition for males throughout the workplaces. Even though the feminist movement has been big throughout the past 200 years, there are lots of examples in history that show characteristics of feminism. One of those examples is that show characteristics of feminism. One of those examples is the book Antigone by Sophocles.
The word ‘feminist’ is used to describe someone, usually a female, who fights for equality as women are considered the weaker sex. It describes someone who stands up for what they believe in and what they believe in is equality among men and women. I have witnessed myself that men think they are more superior. Little things
Hello! I have been thinking of you guys and your family throughout the years and have wanted to write you a letter, but I have always put it off. I want to thank you BOTH for everything that you guys did for me while I was growing up. You both took me into your family and treated me like I was part of your own family.
If you think women’s voices are as important as men’s, and that both sexes deserve equal opportunity, you are a feminist” (Bodenner, 2016). In this definition of what feminism is it depicts a feminist as someone who desires justice, not a stereotype. Which is true, at some level almost everyone is a feminist, as long as you believe in gender equity you are a feminist. The feminist movement started in the 1960s in relation to the 1963 Equal Pay Act, this made it so men and women would receive the same pay for the same job, it however didn’t prevent discrimination. In response, the Civil Rights Bill was passed in 1964, stating that discrimination based on “race, color, national origin, or sex” was prohibited, later on President Johnson would sign the executive order requiring business with federal contracts to hire women and people of color, thus establishing one of the first affirmative action programs in the U.S. (Gollnick and Chinn, 2017).
Many feminists in the 1800’s advocated for equality between women and men. Some of these advocates switched their beliefs from equality of men and women to the equality based on skin color and gender. Although female led organizations in the 1800’s shared differences, ultimately they were advocating for the same goals. Their ideal equality included political, social and economical. They strived to gain the rights to vote, to stop being viewed as weak and inferior in the eyes of man, and equal representation.
Feminism includes to look for equal opportunities for women in education and employment. - Feminism movements fights for the rights of women for example the right to vote, to be able to do the work that men do, to earn equal pay as men, to receive the same education, to have equal rights in a marriage, etc. Feminists are also seen as a “right” that women have that will help them to stay safe from rape, sexual harassment, and domestic violence, etc. - In other words Feminism is seen as a group of women who have the same goals.
I define feminism as equality between a man and a woman. I believe that a woman should be viewed and respected the same way a man is. In other words, there should not be a label of a woman’s or man’s job. There should not be a generic label that cooking and cleaning is a woman’s job while earning money is typically a man’s job. A woman should be able to earn just like a man does, while a man can cook and clean just like a woman is supposed to.
First, we should define feminism. Basically, feminism is a philosophy that advocates equal rights for women and men. The more feminists seek to overthrow any sign of male dominance in our society, to the point where they disapprove the biblical roles of husbands and wives, defending abortion, and so on. Modern feminism is a forged solution to the real issue of the inequality of women. Feminism assumes to itself the right to demand respect and equality in every aspect of life.
• Feminism is about contesting systemic inequalities, and seeking equal treatment and opportunity for both genders. • Feminism is not against marriage but respect individual informed choice and does not believe in double standard in judging a person’s conduct. • Feminists acknowledge that equal rights translate into equal accountability. Although feminism continues to be non-monolithic and contentious, it has made several progress and created new worlds of possibility for working women, education, empowerment and even arts.
