To what extent has your understanding of technology and technological practice changed since the beginning of the paper?

Technology is everything which is man made around us (Fleer & Jane, 2011). It is a concept that deals with the ever-changing world, through knowledge of crafts and tools that can be controlled to adapt to the environment, including social and physical, that is around us (Banta, 2009). Through the use of technology, the world is constantly developing. New objects and ways of living continuously create change to solve problems within everyday lives of people. Without technology, the world as a society would not be able to function properly and effectively (Fleer & Jane, 2011).

Over the course of the technology paper, my understanding of this definition of technology has expanded. When first starting this course, I was unaware of what actually made up the concept of technology. For one of the questions we asked “How much EXTRA would you pay for a product like this?” We gave five choices of answers, being, “$5, $10, $15, $20, and $25”. Later on in the project, we discovered that the price to manufacture the extra attached pillow and ventilation would likely cost more than $25. This meant that we were unsure whether people would still be prepared to pay more than $25. Therefore in reflection, it may have been effective to put higher values as options, to see if people would be prepared to pay more. Another improvement in terms of our survey would be adding another question to see if our sleeping bag product would be purchased.
