Isaac Newton was the president of the Royal Society so he took advantage of his position. Sadly, Newton started to say things that made Robert Hooke seem horrible and because of that, he disappeared from history. There was a rumor that Isaac Newton burnt the only painting known of Hooke and said that Robert didn’t actually discover the things he did. This was pretty hard on Rober but on top of him having to deal with Isaac Newton, his niece who he loved died so it wasn’t easy for him to want to stand up to Newton. So, in the long run, Robert Hooke's discoveries made his life worse but other people's life better. The reason why I say this is because Robert Hooke discovered and did so much, yet people took credit from him and made him seem like a horrible person. So he probably wasn’t very fond of that. The reason why his discoveries have made other people’s life better is because nobody would have been able to branch off of Hooke’s ideas if someone else didn’t discover it. It’s really sad to think about it. He did so much to our world yet other scientist took it away. People have said that it was all Robert’s fault that he lost everything because he made Isaac mad, but no one actually knows if that’s true.
