In books, a chapter, a scene, a conflict, or an exchange of dialogue between characters can make a clear effect on the story as a whole. One book I can think of this happening in is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. When Percy is accused of stealing the lightning bolt because Zeus and Poseidon were arguing and Zeus thinks Poseidon told Percy to steal the bolt. Because of that Percy is forced to go on a quest to find the lightning bolt to prevent a war between Zeus and Poseidon that would cause millions of deaths and Zeus would kill Percy if he did not get his bolt back. In this book a conflict occurs between Zeus and Poseidon that affects the story as a whole. ‘’at the last council of the gods, Zeus and Poseidon had an argument.
