What is tidal energy, and how does it work? Will tidal energy impact our world for greater? This newly discovered form of energy can provide amazing energy use in the future. Tidal energy is a form of hydropower (used by turbines) that changes the energy of the tides into very convenient sources of power commonly known as electricity. These amazing tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun. This energy is very much considered to be quite continuing and a predictable source, because the tides always occure twice in a day. Tidal energy is one of the earth’s oldest forms of energy because of the use of water mills. Because of the tides being so predictable, energy can be produced in a faster more available source for our future energy. …show more content…

Under water turbines are similar to wind turbines except that these turbines have to be compact because water is 100 times more dense than air. Tidal turbines are used to turn water into energy by using kinetic motion to produce electricty, but for the turbines to move they have to have generators. Tidal energy is produced by the use of generators which are used to transfer electricity to the turbines underwater for them to move. These generators go from balloon type objects that are connected to the ocean floor which spread to lengthy tubes over a long distance, so when a wave moves from this generator it goes to the turbines that begin to turn the water. These incredible underwater devices are currently located in: China, France, Canada, England and Russia. Tidal Turbines and generators are what starts the transformation of turning tidal waves into
