In the novel Trash, written by Andy Mulligan, one of the most important characters is Gardo. Gardo is an important character because he is supportive like an older brother to Raphael and has a tenacious grip when tough challenges oppose him and he is also serious with everything that encounters him which means that he doesn’t fool around. Gardo is important because he is supportive like an older brother to Raphael. He is always there for Raphael especially when he got a sudden fright when he was getting arrested. An example from the book that shows Gardo’s support for Raphael was when they were both sifting through rubbish. “Gardo’s my partner, and we always stick together. He looks after me”. This shows that Gardo is determined to care for his friend and that he portrays a brotherly figure. Gardo’s support to Raphael shows the reader to stay close around their friends because they will always need you.
