Gary Leon Ridgway, the infamous "Green River Killer", was born in February of 1949 in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to biography.com, for around 30 years he lived a normal, every day life. He had a steady job painting trucks. He was married to three different wives in that time. Growing up in a troubled neighborhood, his mother was abusive and his father never stood up to her violent tendencies. he was not a good student in school and, as stated on murderpedia.org, when the time came he was sent to Vietnam. When he was a young boy, his father introduced him to the idea of Necrophilia. His father worked in a mortuary and would often talk about a coworker who engaged in these disturbing interactions with the corpses. These stories would become central in Ridgway's sexual fantasies, as he loved the idea of ‘‘having sex with someone who is dead because you wouldn’t get caught. No feelings.
