Karl Marx is one of the greatest minds live. He changed the way governments are run and how wealth is distributed. Throughout the world his ideology has created several new nations and the end of other ones. Karl Marx to some is a hero worthy of his claims. Others view him as a villain. No matter what views of Karl Marx are held he was one of the greatest thinkers of all time and a revolutionary figure to millions of people. Karl Marx was born into a middle class Jewish family in Trier,Prussia on May 5, 1818. Both his father and his mother’s families had a long line of rabbis. His father was a lawyer who converted himself and his family to Lutheranism in order to keep his job. Karl was baptized as a Christian in 1824 at the age of six. He was not a good student he was described as “... one of those who hardly showed up in between those two occasions”(Apsler 34). He went there for one year before his father pulled him out and sent him to the University of Berlin where he then studied philosophy. He graduated as with his doctorate from the University of Jena in 1841. He became the editor of a liberal newspaper in 1842 he resigned and moved to London with his wife in 1843. After starting a newspaper he met Friedrich Engels who became a good friend. In 1846 Marx formed the Communist Correspondence Committee in order to link the different socialist groups in Europe. In 1847 he and Engels wrote what Marx is now best known for, the Communist Manifesto. It was published in 1848. He was the kicked out of Belgium and moved to London where he lived the rest of his life even though he was not a legal citizen there.
