Founder of Shared Hope International and author of the book, Linda Smith, has dedicated her life to protect human trafficking victims, especially victims of the domestic sex trafficking. The book expresses how young children, especially girls, are becoming sex trafficking victims. It gives many horrible stories how they are treated and how bad their living condition is. By reading the book, readers may have noticed many surprised facts that they would never know unless they read the book. Linda Smith’s intention of writing the Renting Lacy was to get attentions from people that there are young children who need helps from public. I believe the most benefited people would be young vulnerable children who may be targeted. According to the endorsements in the book, Kay Bail, probation officer, gave a Renting Lacy to young lady who could be a potential victim of trafficking. After she read the book; she experienced a similar situation described in the book which a van approached to lure her. She was wary and aware of the situation. By getting out of the situation, she kept herself safe.
