Over the course of the past two semesters I have been studying under Paul Johnston in an effort to better my skills as a recording engineer, mixing engineer and producer. From the beginning, I didn’t have a clear outcome for what I had hoped to accomplish by the end of the course. This was the source of some problems for me because there were some moments where I felt like I was flying blind. Starting down a path with no clear end is difficult after all. I didn’t have a set goal for myself other than learning all I could from Paul, which is a broad goal.
They must be able to be trusted by the audiences. Trust is an important element for communication, the speaker should be able to convince the audience that he is indeed competent and qualified to convey the messages that they needed to convey.
I’m willing and able to negotiate elements and I always take into consideration the ideas of my teammates. Out of those situations I also had to learn to be an effective communicator however, my skills were really put to the test during my year abroad as an exchange student. I arrived in my host country with only a few phrases under my belt. As a result, I learned to learn to be a good listener and to be precise in my speech.
Success 101 is a one-semester course designed to help students achieve success in college and beyond. The course will focus on the strategies, habits, and values necessary for students to take charge of their own academic and personal development. Emphasis will be placed on self-assessment and goal setting, written and oral communication skills, critical thinking, time management, and study skills.

For children and young people to develop positive relationships it is crucial for adults to model effective communication in the classroom. As a teacher or teaching assistant, you have the platform to facilitate social learning and lead by example. One of the main reasons why effective communication is important, is because it makes children feel happy and comfortable at school, and in your presence. I have taken away many useful strategies and information from the College 101 class I took this summer. This course has given me enough information to help me feel confident that I will be successful in the rest of my highschool experience and my future college experience. This course has given me skills that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Learning to study properly, avoid procrastination, and take notes correctly has been something that has already helped me tremendously. It has helped me feel less stressed on a day-to-day basis as well as improving my school work quality.
