School dress codes are very harmful to a young adult and young child because they will not be able to express themselves, and will feel trapped being like everyone else and lose themselves. Students will also learn to respect others no matter what they wear,and will have a kinder and more accepting mind. Additionally, students will have a developed mind and be more independent with high academic intelligence. If we don't put a stop to dress codes than many students will be harmed mentally and emotionally,and never have a fully developed mind which will harm them. Self-expression is important to a student, because they know they aren't trapped in the crowd looking like everyone else, and have a raised self esteem knowing they are unique and different. Many students try to find who they are, and do that by their clothes. Students need to be taught at an early age that we should respect one another no matter what we wear ; similarly students need to be taught that what a person wears does not define who they are. When students learn to respect others no matter what they wear it makes them be more open minded, and makes them more respectful and kinder. One example is that when people wear what they prefer and feel more comfortable in people will respect them more because they were taught from a young age to respect each gender no matter what they put on their bodies.
