Think back to a time when you lost someone very close to you. This could have been caused by death or that person walked out of your life in some way. Losing someone can cause terrible pain. Now, imagine that this loss was caused by someone else. There would be many thoughts running through your mind after discovering this. Most likely, you would not act upon this pain. In many cases, people just live with the ache until they move on. This scenario is similar to William Shakespeare's play called Hamlet. In this play, the main character, Hamlet, is put into a difficult situation. This decision concerns getting revenge for his father. However, Hamlet delays his revenge for several reasons, including the uncertainty of Claudius's guilt, his Christian faith, and, most important, his sexual interests towards his mother. First, Hamlet’s uncertainty of Claudius’s guilt is one of the reasons he postpones getting revenge for his father’s death.
