How does an individual become so powerful? And how can it affect society so significantly? The Roman Empire lasted over 200 years and during that time it went through many trials such as losing one of its most worthy leaders, Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar took an important role throughout Roman history. He succeeded through battles and helped with the expansion of the empire. Julius Caesar made history by leading his armies to success and gaining more power in the Roman empire than any man has. He was favored by the people because of all the new beneficial success he was bringing to the empire. In the Roman Empire History article it explains “Caesar was a military genius. His many successful military campaigns gained him broad support and popularity among the common people” (Klein) The people of the Roman Empire saw Julius Caesar as a profound leader. If it was fully up to the people, Julius Caesar would have quickly come to power because of all the success he brought. He was brutally murdered by his peers who served in the Senate. They did this to prevent them from losing their power. In the History article it states “On March 15 in 44 B.C Caesar was stabbed 23 times by conspirators who believed themselves to be saviors of liberty and democracy.” (Klein). Julius Caesar came close to ruling the entire empire but other selfish men were not happy with that idea, so they took matters into their own hands, murdering one of the most powerful leaders to live.
