September 11, 2001. A day that many hate to remember and a day the world will never forget. The devastating attack on America that occurred on 9/11 was not only a wake up call but also reveled that America was the impenetrable State she displayed herself as. The president at this time was George W. Bush; he has to act quickly and intelligently. This called for immediate attention and had the attention of single person in America.
History is not just past events, it will be today and it will be tomorrow. Provided the chance, most history majors or enthusiasts would want to go back in time to experience history first hand. but the people of today will be the ones that future generations are looking back on with the same enthusiasm. The three national episodes that impacted the world I live in was The Great Depression, The Cold War, and September 11,2001. The events that occurred during The economic depression and the political tension following World War 2 between NATO Allies and Western Powers such as the United States has affected many aspects of the world .

On the day of september 11th 2001 there was a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and the U.S. Pentagon. Since the tragic day of 2001, September 11th there have been many advancements and improvement in airport security. The events on that day showed people that there needed to be better airport security then what there was now to prevent anything like that from happening again. On the day of the September 11th terrorist attack there where two planes that crash into both of the twin tower both of them collapsed and fail.
This attack was honored by the Islamic State of Terror and sometimes called the new Pearl Harbor. On this day many innocent American lives were lost over a short period. The attacks killed 2,996 people, injured over 6,000 others, and caused at least $10 billion in infrastructure and property damage. Two planes crashed into the trade center towers in New York city while one plane crashed into the Pentagon and another one was brought down. These aircraft were hijacked by Islamic terrorist and deliberately flown to these locations to cause harm to the American people.
The group of terrorists chose the planes because they were had big gas tanks full that were fueled for their long journey, there was a total of 19 terrorists’ that took knives and box cutters onto the flight and took over control not long after they left the airport (9/11 Attacks). The first plane was an American Airlines Boeing 767 leaving from Boston. The plane crashed into the north tower at 8:45 in the morning, leaving an enormous and flaming hole between the 93rd and 99th floors (Schmemann). When the plane hit it killed hundreds of people and closed in around a hundred more in the floors above them. People trapped by the damage and flames leaped off the side of the building to their deaths, desperate to escape.

On September 11th, terrorists hijacked planes and crashed them in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. In this attack, many people lost their lives, and the government responded with immediate actions to stop the activity of terrorists. The events of 9/11 had a profound impact on American society because of how many people were affected and the subsequent changes in national security policies and public perceptions of safety.
September 11, 2001 was an important day for Americans because it will never be forgotten. When there were two planes that went to hit the twin towers of World Trade Center. There were two other plane that went into the Pentagon and another that crashed in a small town in Pennsylvania, the world was shocked. Everyone in the United States felt vulnerable and felt unsafe from this attack that might follow with other attacks. As a result, the CIA, FBI, and the airlines were shocked to see how easy the U.S. can be attacked.

Even though the United states has fought wars against terror before, none of them had taken place in their own country. The 9/11 attacks were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by an Islamic terrorist group al Qaeda on the morning of Tuesday, September 11th, 2001. Americans became more weary about their security and defense as these attacks were a big ego breaker. Americans were happy and proud because they had just succeeded in the Vietnam War.
