The Olmec's were the first major civilization in Mesoamerica that lasted from about 1600-350 BCE. They lived in the tropical parts of south- central Mexico near the Gulf coast of what is now Tabasco and Veracruz. Using all the natural resources they were able to build great art and complexes made from stone and were able to advance in their society creating new inventions which helped their civilization last for about 1250 years. Their religion and culture became the "cradle" of the Mesoamerican culture because they laid many foundations for the civilizations to come, such a as the Aztecs and Mayans.
The Inca, Aztecs, and Mayan are similar from they worshiped gods. As they worshiped god very religiously and did sacrifices with everyone as there are a bunch of ceremonies for there gods for rain crops food. They all used the same resources for building Adobe was one of the biggest resources for houses throughout the inca aztec and mayan empires. All empires ended in the 1500s Actually all the Inca, Aztec and Mayan empires ended in the 1500s once the spanish took over and kill them with diseases but the mayan did slowly disappear. All of some of the major dates that happened in an empire happened in 1400 ad As in the Inca empire The Inca, led by Manco Capac, migrate to the Cuzco Valley and establish their capital at Cuzco.
Even if the Mayans also made temples, it was more extraordinary to see how the Aztecs had absolutely nothing but were able to work with what they had. At the same time, the Aztec had an advanced system for writing and keeping records. The Aztecs used hieroglyphics just like Egyptians, but there 's were a little different. Aztecs writing, “...had three primary functions, namely to mark calendrical dates, to record accounting mathematical calculations, and to write names of people and places”(Lawrence Lo, 2012). This was different than everybody else 's writing because they didn 't have an actual alphabet.
The Incans had the most powerful tribe among the three because they were more unified and their organization was superior. The Aztecs had no empire and the Mayan empire collapsed. Each tribe had its own beliefs and gods
The first tribe we will talk about is the Mayan’s form of technology. The Mayan tribe had their own form of writing that was very different from what we have now. This form of writing then lead the Mayan to invent their own form of math which was also very different from the one we have now. The Aztec on the other hand was very different. The aztecs were very good at manipulating gold and jewels.
The Mayans gained, consolidated and maintained power by using technological advances such as astronomy, agriculture, government, art and writing. The Mayans were very educated in astronomy which greatly helped their advance in technology, they knew exactly when to plant crops and execute religious rituals. The Mayans were not
Inca,Maya and Aztec Compare and Contrast In history we the people have found to realize that the Maya, Aztec, and Inca culture was one of the most incredible findings of their accomplishments. The Maya, Aztec, and Inca civilizations were really smart in topics of engineering, writing, agriculture and astronomy. Also all three had their beliefs, and good with agriculture. All three cultures used great technologies in their agriculture like slash and burn, terrace farming. They all hunted for religion, they had a huge belief with the people spread throughout each region.
The historical importance of the early groups in America brilliantly institutes advancements in their time. The Mayans, Aztecs, and Incas influenced the emergence of the technological and cultural world in the Americas. Distinctively, all these societies implemented unique discoveries that benefited them. For starters, the Mayans began as one of the first successful societies on the continent. ” Mayan Civilization” an informational article by Suzanne Hopkins, illustrates how the Mayans implemented unique buildings and structures.
Mayans are Mesoamerican people. Mayan civilization is best characterized by pyramid temples and omate places. There was no standing armies, but warfare played an important role in religion, power and prestige. Mayans fought for captives for human sacrifice, and for land natural and control of trade networks. This civilization was never
I am about to tell you some of the similarities they share. They were polytheism. They believed in many gods. The mayan had more than 3 gods and so did the Inca. They both died the same way.
The Maya people were wise and peaceful people with great advances in time. Example of these achievements would be the development of the mathematical system and writing. People developed a method of hieroglyphic notation and recorded their history, rituals, and mythology by painting or carving the words on stellas. The Aztecs built the city of Tenochtitlan and developed orchards called chinampas and knew irrigation techniques such as by dikes and ditches.
THE GREATEST MAYAN ACHIEVEMENT The Maya were one of the greatest ancient civilizations, and they had many achievements that were just as great as them. The achievements range from writing systems to great masonry architecture, but three particular Mayan achievements stand out as their greatest accomplishments. These three achievements are the Maya’s number system, which is one of the first number systems to have a zero, their giant trade network spanning the entire Yucatan peninsula, and their extremely accurate calendar.
The ancient Aztecs had an interesting way of life. They were greatly religious, had a strong powerful government, and on top of all of that, they had a lot of medical/scientific advancements that we still use today. Their powerful government was run like a monarchy and had very sophisticated laws. Religion was the most important to the ancient Aztecs. They had an abundant amount of gods which made them polytheistic and believed in human sacrifice.
The Olmec civilization was based on religion as they believed that there was a higher power above all the classes of people. There was also different social classes like rulers and shamans and communitors( workers, farmers) whom developed the society and helped build the community and was highly depended on. Built to depict gods. In addition to that, Archaeologists also believe they represent the long dead of Olmec rules. The colossal heads were carved from basalt boulders and depicted males wearing helmets. The Maya shared the religious beliefs as they all worshipped various gods.
These facts lead to the conclusion that the Olmec civilization was highly advanced due to its sophisticated religion, social structure and religious traditions, and their technical innovations. Every sophisticated civilization has at least one major city or capital. In the case of the Olmec civilization, there were two: La Venta and Tres Zapotes, but La Venta is the most well known of the two. The city was known to have at least eighteen thousand residents and was a religious and economic center of the civilization.
