AZ Educational system The Arizona education system has been determined as ‘poor’. Many Arizonaans report saying that some districts around AZ have been a very bad educational place. People report saying that schools have put their funds unfairly to the students. Districts in cities all around Arizona have been seen as unfair and bad education to citizens. Cons
As a result of The public's poor view of the school and its teachers is very negative. During Jake Barlows talk show a parent said:“Jake, I am a mother. I have three kids. All school-age. But if I had a teacher like that… I’d take my kids out of school”(112 AVI).
Parents who have observed the teacher 's behavior have complained to the director as well as other teacher.
Teacher attrition in PGCPS is just below the national average for urban school districts. The Maryland Teacher Staffing Report (2012) produced by the Maryland State Department of Education shows that between October, 2010 and October, 2011, PGCPS had a 13.3% teacher attrition rate compared to 4.5% in Montgomery County, and 5.9% in Anne Arundel County. Kent County had the lowest teacher attrition rate of all Maryland districts at 2.3%. Only Baltimore City Public Schools had a comparable rate of teacher attrition as PGCPS at 12.2 percent see Table 1.
“Out of the 180 teacher-slots, typically 25 or so cannot be filled and have to be assigned to substitutes” and that is for the spots the school cannot fill, furthermore some teachers didn’t even show up for class at all they the students would have at least a sub everyday. After attending a teacher meeting Jonathan noticed that the students didn’t pick the classes they wanted to take they just put in classes until they filled up and than move on to a different class. The library was closed for almost a quarter of the year every year because of testing or other stuff that being said the students
Professor Paul Douglas asked this question at the 1929 AFT national convention, “allowed to be determined by vaudeville promoters, and real estate agents, and lawyers, and bankers, every interest in the community sitting on school boards, except teachers?” Professor Paul Douglas who later will the the Senator from Illinois, was very upset with teachers were getting treated compared to similar jobs. The school boards went out of their way and into their employees’ lives. They fired teachers for not attending church, failing to vote, or not attending local parades. Also a couple of school boards fired women teachers for wearing the wrong clothing, having the wrong hairstyle, being over the age of forty, and sometimes for getting married.
What details help support his case? Do you think it is obvious which students your teachers like and dislike? Have you ever been justly (or unjustly) disliked by one of your teachers? What type of year did you have?
Teachers normally know what is best for their students.. Students know a lot more than you think they do. Kids probably know more than what their parents think they know, kids are exposed to a lot of different language in high school than normal. Teenagers have internet, cell phones, ipads, and a lot more than their parents did when they were young. Young people don’t realize how good their life is now days that they have.
“Writing is easy. All you have to do is cross out wrong words” (Mark Twain). A writing assignment, smiles disappear and are replaced with looks of terror. A million thoughts are racing through mind. Who said writing was easy?
This data along with data from other cities such as Chicago where only 0.1% of teachers between 2005 and 2008 were dismissed for performance-related circumstances, proves that in the united stated the public school system is broken and in need of help as stated in “Waiting for
One of the key reasons why that’s so is that many of their teachers are not very good themselves”(forbes.com). Leef’s point is that it’s not always the students fault when they receive a poor grade in a class, which supports my view because I can remember countless teachers that I simply can’t understand. There are multiple factors that go into a student's grade, but people seem to only see one side of the story. The education system in America is at a dangerous place at the moment. If this trend continues, the American education system is going to go crash and be taken over by other
After analyzing the California State Board of Education Policy and the sample plan, I retained great information that will help me become a better educator. Children go through many problems throughout life and many of those problems occur in school. This policy on school safety gives students the opportunity to seek options on so that they have a positive safe learning environment. Some of the few factors that I believe make the policy so effective is the school suspension, expulsion, and mandatory expulsion guidelines and also the sexual harassment policies. There must be consequences when an individual does something they were not supposed to do.
This story made it to the New York Times, and a petition has even been created that has now reached over 3,000 signatures. As much as I would appreciate a change in what is happening, it will be very difficult to sway the Department of Education. However, the intent was for a positive impact on the school
One topic that has been arising lately, and has became a controversy, is charter schools. Many think charter schools are bad, well others think they are good for kids. Charter schools are bad in several different ways, and they cause lots of unneeded problems. Like close schools, separate kids and suck in cash from the government. One reason why charter schools are bad, is because they close down other schools.
This is just insane. How is it possible that we are letting this happening while other poor school districts, such as the one I
