American colonists are responsible for initially bringing Halloween to the United States. () During the holiday of Halloween we as a society are allowed to play with this idea of putting on a mask or persona. Halloween is a safer way for us as a society to play with darkness. Still, as we have started to see a rise in violence in America, it also leads to the possibility of the unknown on Halloween. During Halloween, people play with being monsters; however, Michael Meyers is truly a monster.
That is how I look at Halloween. Unfortunately here in Latvia they are not into this holiday and only children at school dress up but afterwards don’t go trick or treating and young adults enjoy going a bit crazy in the pubs in Riga. In the U.S. it is common to see carved pumpkins most everywhere and in some other parts of the world as well. There are also gourd-like orange fruits that get carved with ghoulish face and illuminated by candles.
Good Girls Go Bad, for a Day In Good Girls Go Bad, for a Day, by Stephanie Rosenbloom, she demonstrates that on October 31ST, instead of it being a day for treats and giggles, it has turned into a bucketful of eye-candy. She expresses that buying tight skirts and high heels, should not be accepted and wonders why it is used by many women as an escape. Her argument that Halloween has become too sexual is expressed in several examples from a variety of people. Ethically, the author states whether or not women should question going out dressed sexually, even if it was for one night. Because of her examples from people who you would never think to dress provocatively, this will help to persuade the readers of the realization of how women just to want to dress out of the norm.
It is very interesting how adults are going dress too, because most parents out there aren 't, it must be the really cool parents. Well hope you enjoyed your spooky Halloween, this is student news.
Halloween The misunderstanding of Halloween is an odd and confusing holiday. This confusion is the result of miscommunications through generations of the original meaning of the Holiday over the years. The origin of Halloween commenced over 2000 years ago as the Celts, which was a Celtic God of the Dead. The Celts would build large barn fires to scare away the evil spirits and make sacrifices for receiving good crops in the coming year.

One of the most-awaited moments of the year is right here once again. Dim neighborhoods are brightened by ghastly smiles of Jack-o '-lanterns in communities where the breeze is also slowly getting colder and the leaves that have fallen off of pines give each step a crunch. In a few days, children dressed like pirates, princesses, ghouls, and little monsters will be knocking on doors requesting goodies and several other goodies. Do you think schools should celebrate Halloween and let the kids dress up? I don’t think we should celebrate Halloween at school. It wouldn’t be fair for the people who can’t celebrate Halloween. I will be talking about why Halloween shouldn’t be allowed to be celebrate at school.
Did you ever wonder why it is an American tradition to dress up as monsters or TV characters for Halloween? Well, that is because it was not America’s tradition to begin with, as well as many other things in America. Many things that people believe are American culture, actually came from another culture that has diffused throughout time. Halloween is a prime example of American culture originating from another, as stated in the article History of Halloween, by Joshua J. Mark, “Halloween traditions in the West date back thousands of years to the festival of Samhain.” Halloween originally came from a festival, where they would celebrate and watch the sunset on October 31 to November 1 to honor god, as well as to mark the close harvest season
Trick or treating should not have an age restriction because no one can tell you when you exactly stop being a child. Our brains fully mature at the age of 21 so in between the ages of 9 to 21 you could still have the behavior and likings of a child. Taking away trick or treating for teens who still enjoy the adventure is preposterous, adolescents only have a certain amount of time to be kids it’s not fair to take what little childhood they have and make them turn into adults when they already have their whole lives to be adults. Therefore trick or treating should not be taken away.

Halloween has always been one of my favorite hollidays. Who wouldn't love it, you get free candy, you get to dress up like a crazy person, and be with your friends and family. Although I do love Halloween, it hasn't always turned out the way I had planned. I believe my perfect halloween would entail watching scarey movies, eating lots of candy and food, and lastly just being with good company like my friends or family. I always enjoyed dressing up, but now I don't go trick or treating because I am to old.
The origins of the popular holiday Halloween date back two thousand years ago. It is believed to have been originated from ancient Celtic festival of Samhain which means “summer's end” in Gaelic. During the event of Samhain people believed that ghosts of the dead would return to Earth, they would light bonfires, and wear scary costumes to ward off ghosts.
