Researching Congress for my research topic was important to me because using the link provided (https://www.congress.gov/quick-search/legislation-text) allowed me to look for myself and read about how people in congress feel by considering what they agree to. It is important that I have a clear understanding of who decides what in congress, so I can further make better choices when siding with certain people on different issues. Chapter nine was very interesting for me, I enjoyed reading about how congress works. The website is amazing, and I love how you can go year by year to view legislation. The website allows you to read current and past legislation text, which will give us a better understanding on who decides what. On the contrary, there are many other sub-categories on the website, like a nominations tab, a treaty documents tab, and many other tabs. These other tabs have great information that will keep you updated on American politics. I found the website absolutely amazing because of the amount of depth in their information given. The website has three search engines, one being quick, another titled as "advanced," and the last being a browse section. This website covers so much information regarding congress and the American government. After reviewing a lot of information given on the website I can determine that it was a great tool for staying updated on current politics and even past decisions in the legislature. To conclude my essay, I believe having knowledge concerning American politics and congress is very important and if you utilize both chapter nine in the textbook, with the website, you will have a wholesome understanding of how congress works and who decides what.
