Why Do Schools Should Have A Set Dress Code

When I was in seventh grade I got dress coded by a teacher for wearing a spaghetti strap dress, which is basically a tank top.I ended up having to serve a detention because of it. Schools should have a set dress code that students should have to follow and if they don’t follow it then they should be punished. Dress codes would be beneficial in schools because it would decrease the amount of violences and drug use in school, maintain a safe and stable learning environment, and it would reduce the amount of bullying in schools.

One reason why people would be against school uniforms is that it would cause their parents to spend more money on their kids for school. The other reason why people may say that having school uniforms would not be an excellent idea is that kids would be worried about being bullied because of how they look in said uniforms. Actually having school uniforms would decrease the amount of bullying in schools. If you think about it a large amount of kids these days get bullied for not having name brand clothes or shoes. With that being said, having school uniforms would help out substantially with that because we would all be wearing the same thing and nobody would be bullying anyone for that reason.
