An occurring problem in society today is, abortion.Abortion is a medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of the fetus America has been struggling how to settle this issue without taking away rights from women. Another problem with trying to get rid of abortion is mixing religion with politics. One of the reasons people want abortion to be illegal is because aborting a fetus is considered murder. The value of a life is very important and meaningful. Abortion doesn’t make seem meaningful in any way. Abortion is basically murder. When women are expecting a child, they feel it grow inside of them. They can feel the baby move around and kick. But does that necessarily mean that the baby is alive? Maybe the father would want to keep the child. Women who go through these procedures reflect on what their would-have-been child would’ve grown up to be or do. Also their opinions might change on whether or not abortion is murder. There is also evidence of this in Roe v. Wade: “Even Jane Roe (not her real name), the original woman behind the famous court decision, has completely changed her mind on abortion. She filed a petition to have the decision overturned to help relieve the guilt of hundreds of thousands of needless deaths she blames on herself.” Also, let's not forget that there are two parents of every aborted child. Abortions are being supported by genetic testing. They are trying to abstain from couples having a non-flawless child. Most parents hope that their child will be successful in everything that they are faced with. Not every child is born that way. Scientists are trying to avoid parents having babies with serious illnesses or low IQs. There's a good reason why we don't allow people to drink alcohol, smoke, or drive until they're a certain age. It's because they haven't matured enough to make good, sound decisions. We've all made bad decisions in our younger years that provide us with life experience to make sounder judgment in the future. The one skill that seems to take the longest time to develop is the ability to consider the feelings and needs of someone besides ourselves.
