In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Two families despised each other and two young teenagers from each family fell in love at first sight. One of their good friend the Friar married them behind their parent's backs. The friar helped them to not get caught by their parents. The friar also helps to escape Romeo out of the city. The character that influences the story the most is friar Lawrence because he helps marry Romeo and Juliet and also helps to keep them together. One reason Friar Lawrence influences the story the most is he helps marry them. In the story, it says “we will make short work; For, by your leaves, you shall not stay alone Till holy church incorporate two in one”.(Shakespeare 2.6.35). This is important because if it wasn’t for the friar marrying them they would not have gotten married. This is important because he could have gotten caught and then he could have gotten killed. He also tries to get Romeo and Juliet
