Is murder ever acceptable, even if it was done for political reasons during their presidency? The assassination of John F. Kennedy happened in 1963. It was a major shock to everyone, and still is today. He was shot and killed by Lee Harvey Oswald. He was killed in Dallas at the Delaney Plaza. The assassination of JFK was unjust because he was a war hero, and he was the main reason that NASA went to the moon;however, some people believe that he wasn’t supportive enough of the Civil Rights Movement. For Instance JFK was war hero, he survived PT-109 which was a boat that split in half due to a Japanese destroyer hitting it. Kennedy lead everyone that survived through the crash, and helped them survive. According to JFK ebook, “Jack towed a wounded sailor behind him as he swam”(Burgan,14). He was a war hero because he helped survivors from the boat crash. Overall, Kennedy is a leader and he wanted to help others that were in danger, including him. …show more content…

Towards the end of Kennedy’s presidency NASA’s budget had greatly increased which was his goal. According to Issues in Science and Technology, “ In the 30 months remaining in his tragically shortened presidency, Kennedy proved willing to follow through on his proposal approving and immediate 89 percent increase in NASA budget…”(Logsdon 1). In all, he mainly provided enough funds to get NASA to go to the moon. He raised an abundant amount of money before his presidency was over, if JFK didn’t fund all of that money to NASA, they most likely would not have been able to move forward as quickly as it
