Julius Caesar was better than Alexander the Great and he held more significance. He was able to work his way up from the lower class, he was a strong military leader, and was able to make political decisions that had a good influence on his country. He started out as a small politician but his thoughts and leadership skills were so well liked that he moved up the ranks. He was also able to be victorious in the battle against pompey, and his leadership skills got himself elected by others as dictator for life. Julius Caesar's accomplishments simply outweigh Alexander the Great's accomplishments and he was able to achieve a different level of strength and respect as a leader. Julius Caesar was born July 13, 100 B.C to a family of lower class politicians. At the time Rome was a republic giving power to the senate. Julius Caesar was able to wrestle his way up to the top, giving him more government power. Julius Caesar eventually became the governor of Gaul where he had command over the military and with his strong planning he became revered by most people. At a young age he joined the military. He was a soldier in the province of Asia first and then in Silica. At a younger age he retired from the military to return to his wife Cornelia. He was an ally with Pompey for an extended period of time but after they had a large argument Pompey launched an attack on them, but they were no match for Julius Caesar and his army.
