Scientists are counting on the Philae lander to help them gather information about our wondrous solar system. The Philae lander is a probe, sent to outer space to gather information about comets. Scientists also think they might be able to learn more about the origins of our solar system and how it evolved. The Philae mission was important for scientific research because the Rosetta probe stepped in when the Philae lander couldn’t do it and the scientists will risk a lot to learn so much more about comets.
