In the US, there are numerous universities that offer higher education degree, ranging from bachelors’ degree to the terminal degree such as PhD. When it comes to the University of St. Thomas (UST), you get it all. The school environments foster the students’ growth and encourage the student to push through the limit. Looking at its reputation, UST ranks as one of the best colleges in both in the state of Texas and in the US. I am sure that the school can give me the tools that I need for my future endeavor. UST has many aspects to offer the students. First, the class is small compared to other big universities with the ratio of 1 to 11 of faculty and students. Secondly, UST is in the proximity to my home since it would only take 30 minutes in a good traffics; therefore, I can commute from home and I can save more money from accommodations. UST also locates in the heart of downtown, nearby to the Texas medical center, Houston museums, shopping malls, and diverse restaurants. The students can enjoy the varieties in facility with walking distance. Third, the tuition is affordable with the consideration of the education quality from the University of St. Thomas. From the past record, the recent graduates from UST have a set career and can get first dip in the job market since the school encourages the student to get internships and all the other opportunities that the student need in their path to success. The university also offers the pre-professional program if the student wants to get going with professional career. If I get accepted to the university, I am planning to major in accounting. I am a recent graduated from the University of Houston – Downtown majoring in computer science with minors in mathematics. I will be back as a post bac.
