Sometimes it’s hard to fathom that abortion is legal in the United States of America, “land of the free” freedom to choose, freedom of speech, however it’s not as free as one might make it out to be. Every year millions of babies are aborted, thrown away like trash and yet is legal and has been since 1973. If one doesn’t know what abortion is, it is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. A baby’s heart starts to beat at around 6 weeks, and you can most likely hear it at around 8 weeks. With that being said, abortion is legal till around 16-18 weeks; in some states it is legal till 20 weeks! Yes, that means that even with a heart beat a growing baby can be killed just 4 months short of being born. Many people say this is a woman’s choice, this isn’t a choice, it is cowardly and shouldn’t even be made an option. Abortion in the United States should be illegal because it is murder, it can cause irreversible physical and mental harm, and it is a threat to society. …show more content…

Abortion teaches a person that being irresponsible is ok, that one can just go out and have unprotected sex as they please without any consequences. Women treat abortion as a contraceptive if they aren’t “ready” to have a baby. One is never fully prepared to have a baby does that make killing the baby for one’s own selfish reasons ok? What does this teach the children in today’s world, that if we don’t want/like something we just get rid of it? How do you explain to a child that their life is more valuable than another child’s life? Abortion is creating a society of selfish, irresponsible women. That aborted baby may have grown up to be a scientist, or doctor that discovers a cure for cancer, or the next president. We as a nation are doing a great disservice to our country by legalizing abortion. It is one’s duty to conserve what this great nation is all about, LIFE, liberty, and the pursuit of
