Women’s Rights Should Be Allowed Does the gender pay gap still exist? Yes, women still suffer from wage gap discrimination. Women are very much looked down upon. Women Right’s has changed from the past years and has made more progress than before. The standing between girls and boys has been compared worldwide. There is very much evidence that women are not treated equally as men at work nor are they paid the same. No one can deny that Women’s Rights has been an issue in the past. Despite the fact unchanging reports from the government proving that women are not payed equal to men, new surveys show the gender pay gap. Company’s and businesses usually do not allow their workers to see the pay of others. In a 2010, a survey from the Institute for Women 's Policy Research and the Rockefeller Survey of Economic Security stated that, “Half of workers reported they were either contractually forbidden or strongly discouraged from discussing their pay with their colleagues.” In 2014 Barack Obama an issued an order, to protect contractors and subcontractors from the retaliation for disclosing, discussing or comparing pay (Elejalde). The global economy is not fit for women. Around the world women in other countries such as the Middle East, North Africa and Latin America struggle to find jobs to support their family (Mlambo). We need more jobs for women that have a safe environment, safe from violence and sexual harassment and that also has a higher pay. Women now in other countries are expected to live on 53-84 cents per hour, no one can survive on that especially when the women are single and have kids.
