The world renowned playwright, actor, and shareholder, William Shakespeare, has been under investigation for the authorship of the many plays, poems, and sonnets that have been accredited to him. His work has been given to many aristocrats as the rightful author, but these claims are circumstantial and play on the doubt of those who are not sure what to believe. William Shakespeare is the author of the works with his name because the sonnets only allow him to be the author, the flaws in background knowledge can be contributed to a metropolitan working environment, historians know a man with his name was born and had died in Stratford-upon-Avon, and the plays at the time were for public entertainment and not known as literary genius. The sonnets, which historians say is the author’s autobiography, and the plays are all consistent with the writing style of one author. These sonnets and plays are proven to be written by the famous bard from the First Folio of1623 (“Page”).This portfolio contained thirty – six plays along with the record of the first publishment of them. The poem “Venus and Adonis” is proof that Shakespeare was also a poet.
